MBALE:RDC Vows To Arrest Journalists Who Misrepresent Facts On The Works Of The COVID-19 Taskforce.

Mbale Resident District Commissioner Suleiman Baraza Ogajo has threatened to arrest journalists who misrepresent facts regarding the work done by the District COVID-19 Task Force.

Ogajo sounded the warning today while receiving more than seven tones of maize flour from Mbale District Woman Member of Parliament Connie Nakayenze Galiwango. Nakayenze also handed over sugar and salt. According to Ogajo, the Mbale District Task Force has done a commendable job and journalists must report the facts.

Connie Nakayenze Galiwango the Mbale District Woman MP said that she has used the 20 million shillings given to every legislator to purchase food and other essential items. Nakayenze said she could not return the money yet several people in Mbale need food.

Nakayenze also urged the District Task Forces countrywide not to politicize their work. She said that the country is battling the COVID-19 pandemic which is a matter of life and death and so politicking can wait.

Hajji Umar Nangoli an aspirant for the Mbale Municipality Parliamentary seat also handed over 500 kilograms of maize flour and 500, 000 shillings to the Mbale District COVID-19 Task Force. Nangoli said his donation followed President Yoweri Museveni’s call for support as the country battles the deadly disease.
